Duties/Pligte

  • Dosering in die veld van Ekklesiologie (met 'n fokus op Kerkgeskiedenis / Geskiedenis van die Christendom);
  • Nagraadse studiebegeleiding;
  • Verbintenis tot verdere navorsing;
  • Bywoning en aanbieding van referate by nasionale en internasionale konferensies;
  • Administrasie wat verband hou met onderrig en navorsing;
  • Deelname aan bedrywighede van die dissiplinegroep en Fakulteit;
  • Betrokkenheid by die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) se gemeenskaps- en sosiale impak bedrywighede.

  • Lecturing in the field of Ecclesiology (Church History / History of Christianity);
  • Postgraduate study guidance;
  • Commitment to further research;
  • Attending and presenting papers at national and international conferences;
  • Administration pertaining to teaching and research;
  • Involvement in activities of the discipline group and Faculty;
  • Involvement in the Stellenbosch University (SU) community and social impact activities.


Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
  • `n Doktorsgraad in Kerkgeskiedenis (of verwante navorsingsveld);
  • Ervaring van onderrig en navorsing, spesifiek ten opsigte van Kerkgeskiedenis;
  • Kundigheid in Suid-Afrikaanse, of Afrika, Kerkgeskiedenis
  • Artikels gepubliseer in geakkrediteerde tydskrifte;
  • Nagraadse studieleiding (voltooid);
  • Rekenaargeletterdheid en vaardigheid in die gebruik van verskeie Microsoft-programme (Word, PowerPoint, ens.);
  • Goeie administratiewe en organisatoriese vaardighede;
  • Die vermoë om in 'n veeltalige omgewing te funksioneer. Die vermoë om Afrikaans te praat, te lees en te skryf (vir navorsing wat gebruik maak van die argiewe van die Kerk
en Universiteit wat in Stellenbosch gesetel is).

  • A doctoral degree in Church History (or a related discipline);
  • Teaching and research experience, particularly in Church History;
  • Expertise in South African, or African, Church History;
  • Postgraduate supervision (completed);
  • Articles published in accredited journals;
  • Computer literacy, with the ability to use various Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Good administrative and organisational skills;
  • The ability to function in a multilingual environment. The ability to speak, read and write Afrikaans (for research that utilises the archives of the Church and the University that
are located in Stellenbosch).
Recommendation/Aanbeveling
  • Vermoë om Afrikaans te skryf, lees en praat;
  • `n Belangstelling in argivale navorsing.

  • Ability to read, write and speak Afrikaans;
  • An interest in archival research.
