Description : Head of Supply Chain. Company : Enaex Africa. Location : Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duties and Responsibilities for the Incumbent include; but are not limited to:
- Leading, coaching, training, and mentoring team members to ensure delivery against functional performance targets.
- Developing and leading safety strategies and initiatives for people, product and suppliers/service providers involved in the value chain e.g. transporters.
- Designing and implementation of Supply Chain strategies and policies aligned with the company’s overall business strategy.
- Monitoring and tracking all key performance criteria over the various value streams and perform evaluation of the Supply Chain health.
- Leading regulatory compliance measures to ensure business sustainability e.g. BBBEE, OSH Act, SANS codes etc.
- Building strategic relationships and networks internally and externally.
- Optimization of cost, time and resources in order to deliver on customer promise.
- Plays a strategic and influential role in the company’s financial performance.
- Supporting various business and functional leaders with performance and insights on the management of Supply risks to the business, Supplier delivery, payment issues and the relevant mitigating actions.
- Leading by example in ensuring adherence to company values.
Management Outputs:
- Ensuring functional delivery by Sasol to Enaex Africa for the Supply Chain environment hosted by Sasol in line with Enaex-Sasol agreed SLA’s.
- Providing leadership in the execution of strategic, tactical, and operational plans of Enaex.
- Monitoring SC weekly performance to ensure customer deliveries are executed timeously.
- Continuously explore alternative sources of feedstock supply locally and internationally.
- Collaborating with Enaex Group to leverage Spend.
- Managing the critical points of integration in the supply chain.
- Drawing up of annual departmental budget in line with set company timelines
- Plan and optimize Supply Chain operations through strategic and tactical planning of operations and enablement of various teams to deliver on the Supply Chain strategy and overall Enaex Africa strategy.
- Ensure thorough monthly and annual inventory management practices are applied in the maintenance of a long-term mass balance for all products.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of equipment/machinery (transport vehicles and warehousing assets).
- Ensure deployment of appropriate Systems and third-party resources (Transport and warehousing assets)
- Understand the Enaex value chain operationally and financially and demonstrate through data clarity and analysis of optimal production plans, marketing strategies and capital investment the impact on Supply Chain.
- Provide SC specific business intelligence, reporting, budgets and training related to supply chain.
- Measure, monitor and proactively influence compliance to supply chain standards and governance.
- Facilitate and prepare Supply Chain for periodic audits and relevant ISO certifications that may be performed from time to time to ensure compliance no adverse findings.
- Establish and implement a robust world-class sourcing, contracting and procurement management function (inclusive of Procure-to-Pay systems, processes, and governance).
- Drive improved and sustainable performance of all transport service providers.
- Development of frameworks and criteria for supplier performance management and functionally oversee the process for determining the root cause of supplier non-performance.
- Understand the legislative environment and lead compliance practices in Supply Chain (e.g. BBBEE codes).
- Maintain a risk register and propose mitigations for risks identified that arise from various operational activities in Supply Chain.
- Ensure BBBEE compliance and target achievement (Preferential Procurement, Enterprise and Supplier Development).
- Facilitate the ability of suppliers to deliver a more effective service, which includes creating a collaborative, partnering relationship with suppliers to drive additional value for Enaex and meet BBBEE targets for local spend where possible.
- Set, monitor, and meet cost savings targets through implementation of various cost saving initiatives.
- Contribute to the service provider safety initiative and transporter safety improvement for the company.
- Entrench the functioning of Insurance Administration and Mobile Services while leading the development and implementation of new policies and procedures relating to these.
Education and Experience
- Post Graduate B Degree or equivalent (MBA/MBL advantageous)
- 12 years relevant management experience (of which 5 years at senior management in Supply Chain)
- Candidate must be willing and able to travel.
- Strong Business acumen.
- SAP Experience at least 5 Years
